Miles for Matias

The Miles for Matias Walk was created in memory of one of Alpha Phi Omega’s brothers, Tom Matias. Tom pledged Alpha Phi Omega in Spring 2007 and was an integral part of his pledge class. In Fall 2007, he transferred from Binghamton to Stony Brook in order to pursue a major in Occupational Therapy. When he transferred there, he became very involved, volunteering with children who had pediatric MS, which soon became his passion. On September 4th, 2009, Tom passed away and his pledge brothers decided to create this walk in his honor.

ALL proceeds benefit the National Pediatric MS Center at Stony Brook University Hospital and Medical Center.
